Scintilla piccola stella, non conosco il tuo nome, so solo che sei bella

Questa filastrocca popolare inglese del XIX secolo è tratta dal poema “The Star” di Jane Taylor. La poesia, in 15 distici, è stata pubblicata per la prima volta nel 1806 in Nursery Rhymes (Rime per il nido d’infanzia), una raccolta di poesie di Jane Taylor e sua sorella Anna. Si canta sulle note della melodia popolare francese “Ah! vous dirai-je, Maman”, nota sin dal 1761. Famose sono le dodici variazioni in do maggiore per pianoforte della canzone, che Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart elaborò nel 1781, all’età di 25 anni. Si tratta di un componimento per bambini, di una ninna nanna, ma è molto amata da astronomi e poeti, nonché da tutti coloro che ricercano la notturna solitudine, quando la voce dei propri pensieri risuona segreta nel limpido spazio.
